After helping Lincoln City FC secure EFL Sky Bet Championship promotion, Zimbabwean Tendayi Darikwa has received a big recognition.
A statement from the EFL League club confirms that the 34-year-old has been nominated for the Imps top awards for the 2025-2026 campaign in England.

The on-and-off Warriors defender has been nominated for Lincoln City FC’s 2025-2026 Player of the Season Award. Fans can vote for the Zimbabwean via the club’s website.
“The player who gets the most votes will be named the Red Imps Community Trust in association with the Lincoln & District Supporters Club Player of the Season,” reads the statement.
“The Vic Withers Player of the Season Trophy will be awarded to the winner at the final match of the season against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 25 April.”

Darikwa has earned the nomination alongside, George Wickens, Adam Reach, Adam Jackson, Ryley Towler, Sonny Bradley, Tom Hamer, Tom Bayliss, Conor McGrandles, Dom Jeffries, Ivan Varfolomeev, Reeco Hackett, James Collins, Jack Moylan, Rob Street, Ben House and Freddie Draper
The former Burnley FC defender has made 47 appearances, scored four goals and registered three assists for the Imps this season.
The Zimbabwean skippered the Imps to a 2-1 victory over Reading FC last Monday to secure promotion to the second-tier league of English football for the first time in 65 years.
The Nottingham-born player previously steered Wigan Athletic to the League One title in the 2021/22 season.
In the latest game, coach Michael Skubala-led team beat Leyton Orient FC 2-1 on Saturday to go 12 points clear of second-placed Cardiff City FC.
The next games for the Imps are against Stevenage FC away, Wycombe CF at home on 18th and 25th April 18 then Port Vale FC at home.
