The Competitions Committee of the Sudan Football Association (SFA) has officially decided that the Sudan Elite League will take place in River Nile State, with matches set to be played in the cities of Atbara and Al-Damer, according to Altaghyeer.

The Sudanese outlet said that the Sudan Elite League is scheduled to kick off on July 4 with all fixtures hosted at Atbara and Al-Damer Stadiums.

This Elite League will be crucial in determining the Sudanese clubs that will qualify for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup in the upcoming season.

To ensure competitive balance, the organizing committee has confirmed that Al Hilal will lead one group while Al Merreikh will head the other.

Both Sudanese giants had participated in the Mauritanian Super D1 league last season due to the security challenges and suspension of domestic football in Sudan.

The return of the Sudanese League marks an important step in reviving the national football scene.
