Date, venue and time confirmed for Pyramids’ Intercontinental Cup showdown against Auckland City

The second preparatory meeting between officials from FIFA and Egyptian side Pyramids FC — reigning champions of Africa — was held today to finalize arrangements for the club’s upcoming clash with Auckland City of New Zealand in the opening match of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

It was agreed that the match will take place at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo on 14 September at 9:00 PM Cairo time (6:00 PM GMT).

Auckland City’s delegation is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on 12 September and will be accommodated at a hotel in New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement district. The New Zealand champions will hold a single training session at the Air Defense Stadium on 13 September at 4:00 PM GMT, a day before the highly anticipated encounter.

The winner of this match will advance to face Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli Jeddah for the Africa–Asia–Oceania Intercontinental Cup title. Last year, Egyptian giants Al Ahly claimed the trophy after defeating Al Ain of the UAE 3-0.
