Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has opened up on playing under returnee manager David Moyes.
Moyes has steered the Toffees to three wins and a loss since returning the Goodison Park after his exploits with West Ham United where he led them to the Europa Conference League title in the 2022-23 season
Abdoulaye Doucoure who plays for the Mali national team shared some qualities of the Scottish manager, admitting that the former Manchester United manager has transformed the side drastically.
“I think he obviously has a good team around him, his assistant and him work very good together, the know each other for a long time.
“Since he came in, he just changed a couple of things tactically and you can see the difference you know, playing from the back, just the positioning of the players and even my position, he showed me some couple of people I can improve and you make a massive difference. That’s why he was successful,” Doucoure told The Breakdown.
Asked whether David Moyes has been underestimated by many in terms of tactics, Abdoulaye Doucoure answered in the affirmative.
“He is, I think he is obviously because people think he has this mentality, he plays long balls, he is tough, he is a very defensive coach but tactically he is great.” Doucoure added.
Doucoure, 31, has played 21 league games for the Toffees, scoring just a goal in those outings this season.
