Defending champions Angola storm past Madagascar into COSAFA Cup final

Angola are one step away from successfully defending their COSAFA Cup title following Friday’s dominant 4-1 victory over Madagascar in the semifinals of the 2025 edition.

Depu scored twice in the first half from penalty kicks and victory was confirmed for the Palancas Negras following Zini’s crashing header from a Manuel Keliano cross in the 74th minute (video above).

Alem added one more for the reigning champions before Mika Razafimahatana’s sensational long range effort gave Madagascar a consolation goal in spectacular fashion.

Angola now awaits the winner between Friday’s second semifinal match between hosts South Africa and Comoros. The final will take place on Sunday (13:00 GMT) at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein while Madagascar face the loser of the second semifinal in the third place match, scheduled for earlier in the venue (10:00 GMT).
