NWFL: Delta Queens edge Robo Queens in thriller as Bayelsa Queens rout Ratels

Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership concluded on Wednesday with thrilling action in both Groups A and B.

Delta Queens fought back to defeat FC Robo Queens, while Bayelsa Queens routed the Naija Ratels and Ahudiyannem Queens extended their unbeaten run.

​Group A action

Bayelsa Queens produced a dominant display of the round, routing Naija Ratels 5–0 in Yenagoa. An own goal from Andy Faith set the tone before Delight Isaac doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time.

Vera Samuel added a third early in the second half, while Kesiena Ojiyovwi netted twice late on to complete the rout.

​Meanwhile at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels maintained their grip on the top of the group with a 2–0 win over Pacesetter Queens. Grace Saliu struck twice inside the opening 15 minutes to effectively decide the contest early.

​Edo Queens also kept pace with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Ekiti Queens in Benin City. Rebecca Adegbemile opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Atume Doosuur added a second on the stroke of halftime, taking her season tally to nine goals.

Ibom Angels came from behind to beat Adamawa Queens 3–1 in Uyo; although Omon Afensimi gave the visitors an early lead, Mariam Okocha responded with a brace before Eunice Ezeani sealed the win in the 75th minute.

​Group B action

At the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta Queens came from behind twice to secure all three points against Robo Queens. Kemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring in the 11th minute with her sixth goal of the season, before Princess Adams levelled in the 35th minute.

Esther Onyenezide restored Robo’s lead four minutes later, but Norah Davis equalized again shortly after the restart. Anatasia Terfa then struck the winner in the 71st minute to seal Delta’s fourth win of the campaign and hand Robo their third defeat.

​Meanwhile, Ahudiyannem Queens continued their impressive form under coach Adanna Nwaneri, holding Nasarawa Amazons to a goalless draw in Lafia to remain unbeaten since Nwaneri’s appointment.

​In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies were held to a 1–1 draw by Confluence Queens. Aishat Animashaun put the hosts ahead in the 35th minute, but Marvelous John equalized five minutes into the second half.

Elsewhere, Abia Angels secured a crucial 1–0 away win over Osun Babes in Ile-Ogbo, with Blessing Okon scoring the decisive goal in the 54th minute—a result that significantly altered the Group B standings.

​Table Standings

In Group A, Rivers Angels, Edo Queens, and Bayelsa Queens all recorded wins, maintaining their positions in first, second, and third respectively, while Pacesetter Queens and Naija Ratels remain at the bottom.

​Group B saw a shift in momentum. Despite their defeat, Robo Queens remain top, but Nasarawa Amazons moved to 23 points, just two behind the leaders. Remo Stars Ladies dropped out of the top three following their draw, with Abia Angels climbing into third, one point ahead of Remo.

​The final game of the round will see Dannaz Ladies host Sunshine Queens at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Thursday, March 26, 2026, a fixture that could prove crucial in the relegation and mid-table battle.
