Denden FC defended their Eritrean Super Division title for the 2024/25 season. The army side beat arch-rivals Red Sea FC in the final playoffs of the top flight. The last round of games was played in the city of Keren.
Denden defeated Red Sea 5-4 in a penalty shootout to be crowned champions of Eritrea. It was a cagey affair between the two top clubs in the country. After a goalless draw, Denden came out on top with a penalty shootout win. Denden won the Super Division for the second consecutive time, as Red Sea missed out on a league title yet again.
Al Tahrir pipped Asmara Brewery 2-1 to finish the season in third place. Hermon Gebregiorgis gave Al Tahrir the lead, but the beer producers equalized before halftime through Misgena Alem. In the dying moments of the second half, Gebregiorgis struck his second of the day as Al Tahrir ended the season on a high note.
The Eritrean National Football Federation awarded league winners Denden 100,000 Eritrean Nakfa ($6,657 USD). Red Sea and Al Tahrir took 75,000 Nakfa ($5,000 USD) and 50,000 Nakfa ($3,333 USD), respectively.
Denden head trainer Samsom Habtemikael took the Best Coach of the Season accolade, while Nahom Tadesse was voted Most Valuable Player of the Season. The Top Scorer award went to Denden forward Romel Abdu after he bagged 13 goals.
