Desabre announces DR Congo squad for 2026 World Cup Intercontinental Play-Off

Sébastien Desabre has announced the squad of the DR Congo national football team for the intercontinental play-offs of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Several prominent names headline the Leopards’ squad, including Yoane Wissa, Aaron Wan‑Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe, Cédric Bakambu and Fiston Mayele.

Yoane Wissa returns to the national team squad after missing the recent edition of the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

DR Congo will compete in the intercontinental play-off tournament for a place at the 2026 World Cup. The Congolese side will face the winner of the match between New Caledonia national football team and Jamaica national football team on March 31 in Mexico City, Mexico in the final of the play-offs.
