“Dickson Job was the toughest defender I faced” – Singida striker Jonathan Sowah

Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah has named Tanzania international Dickson Job as the toughest defender he faced in the Tanzanian Premier League this past season.

Sowah, 26, joined Singida Black Stars from Libyan outfit Al Nasr midway last season, scoring an impressive 13 goals from 13 league matches as they booked a spot in next term’s CAF Confederation Cup. They finished fourth in the league with 57 points from 30 matches.

Notwithstanding his high level performance for Singida, the former Medeama SC attacker penciled down Dickson Job who plies his trade for Young Africans as the player who gave him a tough moment last season.

“Job from Young Africans is a tough defender. When you see him, you will never know how tough he is but when he starts the work, you can feel it.” Sowah told Pan Africa Football.

Job was a key figure in Young Africans’ blistering performance last season where they clinched their 26th top flight title and a spot in next term’s CAF Champions League.

The 24-year-old is capped 20 times by the senior team of Tanzania with a goal under his belt. Jonathan Sowah on the hand made his senior Ghana debut in 2023, going on to clock three appearances.
