Douglas Owusu: Exciting Ghanaian youngster grabs debut in Red Star shirt

Ghanaian youngster, Douglas Owusu scored his debut goal and assist for Red Stars Belgrade during their 5-0 victory over Novi Pazar in the Serbian Super Liga on Saturday.

Owusu, 19, who joined Red Stars Belgrade earlier this year from FK Radniki, quickly announced his presence match day 22 with the opening goal in the 25th minute mark.

The solitary strike by the former Asekem forward separated the two sides into the half time break.

Red Star continued their dominance, increasing the tally twice within a space of four minutes. Milos Veljkovic and Vasilije Kostov scored the 54th and the 58th minute to compound the woes of the visitors.

Veteran Brazilian, Rodrigo de Souza and made the score 4-0 in the 72nd minute with Jay Enem icing the cake in the cake 11 minutes later to complete the 5-0 routing.

Douglas Owusu has now scored his first goal since joining Red Star in a deal worth over €2 million from fellow Serbian SuperLiga club FK Radnik Surulica.

Owusu signed for Radniki from Ghana second Division side Asekem, producing 9 goals and 10 assists in 54 matches for the club over one and a half seasons. He was instrumental in helping Radnik achieve promotion to the top flight last season.
