Teenage playmaker Douglas Owusu was once again influential for Radnik Surdulica as the surprise package in Serbia’s SuperLiga won again with a 2-0 result at FK TSC.
The 19-year-old rising Ghanaian talent calmly finished off a counter-attack to put the visitors beyond reach. Radnik enjoyed a strong start to take the lead in the 24th minute but a red card issued to forward Stephen Chinedu reduced the visitors to ten players just before halftime.
But Owusu provided confirmation of a valuable three points away from home for his club in the 61st minute. After winning the ball in their own end, midfielder Aleksandar Pejovic played a long ball into space for the former Asekem FC star. Owusu displayed his pace and got the ball onto his left foot to strike a curling effort beyond the reach of TSC goalkeeper Nikola Simic.
The newly promoted side, who won the second tier last season, are now in 7th place on the 16-team table with three consecutive victories to their name. Owusu has 5 goals in 17 league matches this season as he continues to draw attention with his impressive dribbling and improving goal scoring abilities.
