The 27-year-old joins on a contract that runs until the end of the new season at the end of 2026. Tchamba arrives after spending the last three-and-a-half years in Portugal with Casa Pia, where he made over 50 appearances in all competitions.

The powerful defender will attempt to help Remo retain their top flight status after gaining promotion to Brazil’s top flight for the first time in 31 years. They currently sit in 16th place with 3 points from 4 matches.

The club, popularly referred to as the “Kings of the Amazon”, are one of the most historically successful clubs from the north of the country with 35 titles in the state championship of Pará. Remo are currently competing in the state championship final, where they lost the first leg to third tier side Paysandu PA and will play the second leg on Sunday, March 8.

For Tchamba, the move comes after experiencing inconsistent playing time with Casa Pia where he endured a long injury spell during the current 2025-26 season. The move represents an opportunity for him to put a spark into his club career after previous spells in Denmark with Sønderjyske as well as the reserve team of French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.

The Yaoundé native attended his first training session this week and will need to integrate himself into the team quickly to earn a regular place. His new club have allowed 8 goals in 4 Série A matches and with the exception of central defensive captain Marllon, lack top flight experience in their crop of central defenders.

Tchamba has made three appearances for the Cameroon national team. He represented the Indomitable Lions in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying and also competed at the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, where Cameroon were eliminated at the group stage.
