Durban City FC’s assistant coach Pitso Dladla has shared his insight into the rookies’ preparations for the Betway Premiership clash against Siwelele FC.

The South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams meet at Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday at 7:30pm with both seeking the treasured three points.

Giving an update on the forthcoming fixture, Dladla highlighted how the team’s players are putting in extra work to ensure they maintain their impressive start to the campaign.

“We are working hard during the break. We played Siwelele during pre-season, and it will be a tough game, but with the support that we normally enjoy at Chatsworth, we believe that if we do well as a team, we can get maximum points,” the coach told the club’s media.

City have made a strong start, losing just once in the league. Little wonder they are in a decent sixth place on the log table with eight points, five points behind joint leaders Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United.

Coach Gavin Hunt’s newcomers have punched above their weight, grinding out results with their direct play.

On the other hand, Siwelele sit in 11th place and have collected four points from five matches after winning once and drawing once with the rest of the results being draws.

The last game for the Bloemfontein-based club, which emerged from the sale of SuperSport United, ended 0-0 against Richards Bay FC on August 29, 2025.
