Ghana defender, Ebenezer Annan has officially joined French Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Etienne ahead of next season.

The 22-year-old joins the Greens on a three-year deal until 2028 from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade.

Annan spent the 2024/25 season between OFK Beograd and Red Star, featuring in 29 league games and playing a total of 38 matches across all competitions.

He scored one goal and provided seven assists, helping Red Star clinch the Serbian SuperLiga title last season.

Speaking after his unveiling, Annan expressed his excitement. “I’m very happy to sign for AS Saint-Etienne. The club is building a strong team with great staff and incredible support from the fans. It’s an honour to be part of this project. I’ll give my all in every match to help the team reach its goals.”

Annan began his European journey in Italy, joining Bologna’s U19 side before gaining experience with loan spells at Imolese and Novi Pazar, eventually earning a move to Red Star Belgrade.

Head coach of Saint-Etienne Eirik Horneland was full of praise for the Ghanaian left back.

“Ebenezer is a powerful left-back who brings great energy to his flank. He’s come from Red Star, a big club used to pressure and high-stakes games. His international experience with Ghana is also valuable. We’re eager to start working with him.”
