English Championship club, Portsmouth have completed the signing of midfielder Ebrima “Ebou” Adams from Derby County for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old who represents the Gambia at the international level has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal and will wear the number 38 shirt.
Portsmouth manager John Mousinho said: “We’re delighted to get this deal over the line and bring in a proven Championship player.
“He’s performed highly at this level over the past couple of seasons and is someone we’ve come up against a number of times.
“Ebou will provide a huge amount of energy and athleticism in the middle of the park and I’m looking forward to working with him.
“He was the club captain at Derby and has a lot of leadership qualities, so we feel that he’s a massive addition to the squad.”
The England born started off at non-league side Dartford before signing for Norwich City with loan spells at Braintree, Shrewsbury and Leyton Orient in between his time at Norwich.
He later joined Ebbsfleet before helping Forest Green secure the League Two. He previously featured for Cardiff before moving briefly to Derby for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign. Adams, who has 29 games for the Gambia played a key role as the Rams secured promotion to the Championship by finishing as runners-up to Pompey in League One.
He made the move permanent in the summer of 2024 and starred as the Rams ended 19th to preserve their second tier status.
