Egypt’s Arab Cup squad, led by head coach Helmy Toulan, will hold a training camp in Ismailia from September 1 to 9 during the FIFA international window, following approval from the Egyptian Football Association’s board.
The team, which will compete in the Arab Cup in Qatar this December, will feature players outside the core of the senior national team currently managed by Egyptian legend Hossam Hassan.
As part of preparations, Egypt will face Tunisia in two friendly matches on September 6 and 9, both to be played at Ismailia Stadium. The first match will kick off at 8:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT), while the second will begin at 9:30 PM local time (6:30 PM GMT), with the schedule coordinated to avoid clashing with the senior team’s FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures.
Toulan explained that choosing Ismailia Stadium was aimed at encouraging local fans to support the team in the early stages of their Arab Cup build-up. He added that the technical staff has been on high alert since the start of the Nile Egyptian League season, monitoring the players before finalizing the squad for September’s camp. The final list will be announced after the senior national team reveals its own roster.
