The 2025-26 Egypt Cup quarterfinals are almost set after seven teams advanced this week with Pyramids FC among the teams who secured their place in the final eight.
On Tuesday, African club champions Pyramids eased to a 3-0 victory at El Gouna. A three-goal burst left the big spenders well ahead before a half hour had elapsed at the Khalid Bichara Stadium in the Red Sea Governorate.
Mahmoud Mohamed “Zalaka” opened the scoring inside ten minutes following a corner kick before bursting into space to set up Mostafa Ziko for the second goal. Marwan Hamdi completed the scoring five minutes later in the 27th minute with a clever finish over El Gouna keeper Mohamed Alaa.
In Wednesday’s only match, ZED FC required penalty kicks to overcome Al Masry following a 0-0 draw in Cairo.
ZED converted all five of their spot kicks to advance. In the other match on Tuesday, Petrojet advanced past Modern Sport with a 2-1 result after extra time. Adham Hamed converted a penalty kick in extra time to secure victory in a battle of midtable clubs from the Nile League.
Last week, WE SC (f.k.a. Telecom Egypt) became the only team from outside the top flight Nile League to reach the quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Pharco FC. The magical run continues for the club, who notably eliminated Al Ahly SC after extra time in the Round of 32.
The only Round of 16 match that has yet to be played in the Egypt Cup involves reigning champions Zamalek, who will face Ceramica Cleopatra at a date that is yet to be determined.
