The Egyptian national team paid tribute to captain Mohamed Salah with a guard of honor on Tuesday as he joined the Pharaohs’ training camp.
The gesture came in recognition of Salah winning the Premier League Player of the Season award for 2024-25, adding another milestone to his glittering career.
Salah linked up with the squad in Cairo as Egypt prepare for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.

Tuesday, September 10: Burkina Faso vs Egypt
Egypt currently sit comfortably at the top of Group A with 16 points. Burkina Faso are second on 11 points, followed by Sierra Leone with 8. Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau are level on 6 points each, while Djibouti remain bottom with just a single point.
With qualification in sight, Salah’s arrival and recent accolade have given the team an extra boost as they look to extend their lead and edge closer to sealing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
