The Egypt national team has decided to grant Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet a rest from Monday evening’s training session and the upcoming friendly match against Nigeria due to a dental medical procedure.
Ibrahim Hassan, Director of the Egypt national team, confirmed that the technical staff, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, agreed to exclude Trezeguet from the friendly scheduled for Tuesday at Cairo International Stadium. The decision came following a recommendation from the medical staff, who preferred to give the midfielder rest after undergoing dental treatment.
Ibrahim Hassan reassured that Trezeguet will be ready for Egypt’s opening match at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025. The Pharaohs will begin their AFCON campaign on December 22 against Zimbabwe.
Egypt are placed in Group B of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, alongside Zimbabwe, Angola, and South Africa.
