The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially awarded the hosting rights for the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 to the Egyptian Football Association and the Egyptian government.
The tournament was initially set to be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire in April 2025. However, this week the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) and the Ivorian government informed CAF that due to unforeseen circumstances, they are unable to organize the competition.
Egypt had previously submitted a bid to host the tournament before Côte d'Ivoire was selected. Now, Egypt's desire to organize the event has been fulfilled.
The competition will kick off with the opening match on Sunday, April 27, 2025 while the final will take place on May 18, 2025.
