Egypt U-20 national team head coach Osama Nabih believes that the recent friendly match against senior team of Al Ahly provided significant value for his side, despite a narrow 1-0 defeat.
“The experience was extremely beneficial overall,” Nabih stated after the game. “Facing a star-studded team like Al Ahly gave us a lot of positives and confirmed that we have a promising generation of young players.”
The match served as part of Egypt’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19. Egypt has been drawn into group A alongside hosts Chile, Japan, and New Zealand.
Goalkeeper: Ahmed Wahb.
Defenders: Mohamed Ibrahim, Ahmed Abdeen, Abdallah Bostanji, and Mohab Sami.
Midfielders: Seif Safaga, Ahmed Kabaka, and Mohamed El-Sayed.
Forwards: Mohamed Abdallah, Hamed Abdallah, and Mohamed Haitham.
During the second half, Adham Karim, Omar Moawad, Omar Khodr, Ali Ehab, Moataz Mohamed, and Ahmed Nail were all introduced.
Nabih and his coaching staff will continue to prepare the squad for the U-20 World Cup, with less than 2 months remaining before featuring on the global stage.
