Egyptian giants Zamalek have officially parted ways with Portuguese head coach José Peseiro, the club announced on Wednesday.

The decision comes following a 2-2 draw against National Bank in the latest round of the Nile Egyptian League, a result that further fueled unsatisfactory over the team's results.

The team was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup at the quarter-final stage by South African side Stellenbosch.

Domestically, Zamalek currently sit third in the league standings with 40 points — six behind arch-rivals Al Ahly and seven adrift of leaders Pyramids. Among these results, the White Knights have reached the final of the Egypt Cup, where they will face Pyramids on June 5.

Peseiro took charge of the team in February and led them in 13 matches, managing six wins, six draws, and only one defeat. During his tenure, Zamalek scored 21 goals and conceded 10.
