Al Masry secured qualification to the semi-finals of the Egyptian League Cup (Egypt Capital Cup) after a 2-2 draw against El Gouna in the second leg of the quarter-finals.
The Port Said side benefited from their 2-0 first-leg victory, advancing with a 4-2 aggregate score despite being held at home.
El Gouna started strongly, taking the lead in the 18th minute through Mohamed Emad, who finished quickly, giving his side hope of a comeback. However, Mohamed Makhlouf quickly responded for Al Masry in the 23rd minute with a stunning direct free-kick, keeping advantage for the hosts in the tie.
The first half ended level at 1-1, with Mahmoud Hamada receiving a yellow card in the 42nd minute.
In the second half, Omar El Saai put Al Masry ahead in the 73rd minute with a precise strike, further extending their aggregate advantage.
El Gouna managed to equalize once again in the 83rd minute through Ahmed Refaat with a very good finish, but it was not enough to change the outcome.
With this result, Al Masry book their place in the semi-finals, continuing their run in the competition and moving one step closer to the title.
