Egyptian League Cup: ENPPI thrash Petrojet 4-0 to seal semi-final spot

ENPPI delivered a dominant performance to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Egyptian League Cup (Egypt Capital Cup), after a resounding 4-0 victory over Petrojet in the second leg of the quarter-finals.

Despite losing the first leg 1-0—where Seko Sonko scored the winner—ENPPI overturned the deficit in emphatic fashion, progressing with a 4-1 aggregate score.

The hosts started strongly, opening the scoring in the 11th minute through Ahmed Kalosha, who headed home to level the aggregate score. Just three minutes later, Mohamed Sherif Hathout doubled the lead with a finish from inside the box.

Hamed Abdallah added a third in the 36th minute with a very good strike, giving ENPPI a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime and putting them firmly in advantage at the tie.

Petrojet had a chance to get back into the game in the 60th minute but missed a penalty that could have shifted momentum.

ENPPI added a fourth in the 63rd minute through Ali Mahmoud, but the goal was initially ruled out for offside. However, after a VAR review, the decision was overturned, and the goal was awarded, sealing a big 4-0 win on the night.

With this result, ENPPI booked their place in the semi-finals, joining Wadi Degla, who had already advanced after defeating Tala’ea El Gaish 4-3 on aggregate.
