Egyptian League Cup: ZED secures spot in semi-finals after draw with Arab Contractors

ZED confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the Egyptian League Cup (Egypt Capital Cup) following a 1-1 draw against Arab Contractors in the second leg of the quarter-finals at Arab Contractors Stadium.

Ahmed Adel gave ZED the lead in the 22nd minute when he met a long ball with a precise shot towards the Arab Contractors goal.

Zed defender, Mohamed Rabia, equalized for Arab Contractors with an own goal, after he headed a corner kick into his own net, in the 28th minute.

The first leg had ended in a goalless draw, and ZED advanced thanks to the away-goals rule.

In the semi-finals, ZED will face Al Masry, while Enppi will meet Wadi Degla. Both ties will be played over two legs.

With this result, ZED continues a remarkable run, having already reached the final of the Egypt Cup, and now securing a semi-final spot in the Egyptian League Cup as well.
