The draw for the second phase of the Nile Egyptian League for the 2025–2026 season was conducted earlier today, following the conclusion of the first stage of the competition.
The first phase witnessed intense competition among participating clubs before the league entered the decisive stage of the season.
The current edition of the Nile Egyptian League features 21 teams competing under a new format consisting of two phases.
During the first phase, teams played each other once in a single-round league format. After its conclusion, clubs were divided into two groups based on their standings in the table.
Zamalek ended the first phase at the top of the standings with 43 points, edging Pyramids FC on goal difference.
Al Ahly SC finished third with 40 points, keeping the title race wide open heading into the decisive stage.

The top seven teams qualified for the Championship Group, where they will compete for the league title as well as the African competition spots.
The group includes:
Zamalek, Pyramids, Al Ahly, Ceramica Cleopatra, Al Masry, Smouha, and ENPPI.
Meanwhile, the remaining 14 teams will compete in the Relegation Group in a battle to avoid dropping to the second division next season.
This group includes:
ZED, Wadi Degla, El Gouna, National Bank of Egypt, Petrojet, Modern Sport, Tala’ea El Gaish, Al Ittihad Alexandria, Ghazl El Mahalla, Arab Contractors, Haras El Hodoud, Ismailia Electricity, Pharco and Ismaily.
