Zamalek secured a valuable 1–0 victory over Al Ittihad Alexandria at Cairo International Stadium in the 21st round of the Nile Egyptian League.
The White Knights struck early in the match, taking the lead in the 11th minute when left-back Ahmed Fattouh delivered a cross into the box, which striker Nasser Mansi headed into the net to give his side the advantage.
The match witnessed two red cards, with Al Ittihad reduced to ten men in the 35th minute after left-back Karim El Dib was sent off for a challenge on Brazilian winger Juan Bezerra. Referee Mahmoud Wafa initially showed a yellow card but upgraded the decision to red after reviewing the VAR.
Zamalek were also forced to finish the game with ten players after midfielder Mohamed Shehata received a red card following a challenge on Khaled Abd ElFattah.
With this victory, Zamalek raised their tally to 43 points, moving clear at the top of the Nile Egyptian League standings, three points ahead of their closest challengers Al Ahly and Pyramids.
