Zamalek continued their impressive run in the Egyptian League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over ZED FC on Tuesday evening at Cairo International Stadium, in Round 19 of the 2025-2026 season.
The White Knights took the lead in the 22nd minute through a brilliant attacking move. Nasser Mansi delivered a good pass to Bezerra, who controlled the ball smoothly, dribbled, and fired a precise shot to give Zamalek a 1-0 advantage.
ZED responded with determination in the second half and managed to equalize in the 74th minute. Mahmoud Saber sent in a precise cross that found Raafat Khalil inside the penalty area. Khalil struck the ball into the net to level the score at 1-1, setting up a tense finale.
However, The White Knights showed their resilience once again. In the 82nd minute, Ahmed Rabie unleashed a stunning strike that beat the ZED goalkeeper and restored Zamalek’s lead. The goal ultimately proved decisive as the visitors failed to find another equalizer.
With this victory, Zamalek secured their sixth consecutive league win, underlining their strong form in the title race. The win lifts them to 37 points at the top of the table following Ceramica Cleopatra’s stumble against Ismaily. Pyramids also sit on 37 points after their win over Ghazl El Mahalla, while Al Ahly drop to third place with 36 points, level with Ceramica Cleopatra. Meanwhile, ZED are seventh with 25 points.
