Egyptian Premier League: Mohsen salvages a point for Al Masry

The third day of Round 7 in the Egyptian Premier League (Nile League) kicked off with a big encounter between Ceramica Cleopatra and Al Masry which ended in a 1-1 draw.


Ceramica took the lead in the 54th minute through Mahmoud Zalaka. A successful passing sequence among the Ceramica players culminated in Zalaka slotting the ball into the net from an assist by Ahmed Kendouci.


The 72nd minute saw a missed opportunity for Ceramica. After Zalaka won a penalty, Fagrie Lakay’s spot kick was saved by Al Masry goalkeeper Mahmoud Gad. In an attempt to capitalize on the rebound, Lakay shot the ball over the crossbar.


Al Masry responded late in the game, equalizing in the 81st minute. Salah Mohsen rose to the occasion with a header, taking advantage of an unsuccessful move by Ceramica’s goalkeeper to find the back of the net.



League Standings Update:


With the draw, both teams now have 12 points. Ceramica sits in 4th place, while Al Masry is in 5th, separated only by goal difference in the Nile League standings.
