Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has vowed to do everything within their reach to support coach Emerse Fae during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Elephants will be among 10 African nations that will participate in the global showpiece slated to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and will be jointly hosted by sixteen cities—eleven in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada.
According to FIF President Idriss Diallo, Fae will receive support to have a successful tournament.
“Emerse Fae is in charge of the team and has already delivered remarkable success, guiding the nation to victory at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and securing qualification for the World Cup,” said Diallo as quoted by Flashscore.
“It is important that he continues building on this strong foundation, and as president of the federation, I will ensure that he receives the full backing required to succeed.
“He will be provided with the necessary resources and the right players to help the team perform at its highest level on the global stage. Our ambition is clear: to go as far as possible at the World Cup.
“However, we must remain humble, stay focused, and continue working hard to achieve our goals.”
On the Word Cup campaign, he said: “It was a very good opportunity for us to face one of the best teams in Asia. They are ranked 25th in the world, while we are 34th, so it was always going to be a tough game.
“We are still at the early stages of our preparation. That was a positive test, but we are not at our best yet. There is still a lot of work to be done, and we must keep pushing ourselves to improve.
“We are not getting ahead of ourselves. The focus now is to keep working hard and continue building step by step so we are fully ready when the World Cup commences.”
Ivory Coast have been drawn in Group E alongside Germany, Ecuador, and debutants Curacao.
