Emmanuel Ankrah, a central defender of the now-defunct Ghana Premier League side, Nsoatreman, has set his sights on joining a new team in the next transfer window following the team’s dissolution.

Ankrah, 20, was a member of the Nsoatreman squad that competed in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup under coach Yaw Preko. The club pulled out of the Ghana Premier League this season after Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong was stabbed to death following violent supporters' clashes at the Nana Konamansah Park.

Nsoatreman’s exit from the topflight has left Ankrah inactive but he is hopeful and looking forward to joining a club in the next window. “I can’t say anything about the club or what happened. What happened has already happened.

For now, I’m at home because of our issue with Kotoko. I’m home now but I’m waiting for the transfer window to open so that I will see which teams will show interest in me,” he told Pan-Africa Football.

Ankrah signed for Nsoatreman from relegated Tano Bofoakwa in a three-year deal, bolstering their back line for the continental campaign.

Their debut continental campaign was not successful after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Algerian side CS Constantine in the second leg of their second-round clash. The result sealed a 3-0 aggregate victory for Constantine, who had previously won 2–0 in the first leg in Accra.
