ENPPI earned an important 2-0 home victory over Haras El Hodoud in the first leg of the Egypt Capital Cup quarter-finals.
The first half ended goalless, but ENPPI managed to take control in the second half. In the 51st minute, Mohamed Hathout scored the opening goal for ENPPI with a left-footed shot from inside the box after dribbling past a Haras El Hodoud player.
Hathout continued to shine and assisted the second goal in the 72nd minute, delivering a corner kick that Ahmed Sabeha converted into the net.
The Egypt Capital Cup quarter-finals are played over two legs. The second leg between ENPPI and Haras El Hodoud is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00 PM GMT at Haras El Hodoud home Stadium.
ENPPI had qualified for the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group C, which included Al Ahly, Tala'ea El Gaish, and Pharco. Meanwhile, Haras El Hodoud reached the same stage by topping Group D ahead of Ismaily, Pyramids, and Al Ittihad.
This result continues ENPPI’s positive results under head coach Hamza El Gamal, who took charge of the team in March and has led them to victory in four out of six matches so far.
