Gberefun joins the Flying Antelopes on a two-year contract, which will see him at the club until 2027. The striker makes the switch to the former NPFL champions from Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Osun United.
The 2024-25 season was a breakout year for the forward, who finished as Osun United’s top scorer with 10 goals. His form was instrumental in the ‘Omoluabi Giants’ reaching the NNL playoffs, where they narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight.
Gberefun is expected to fight for a starting role with experienced forward Godwin Obaje in the coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team.
Coach Ilechukwu now has a dynamic new option in his attacking lineup, which will be crucial for the team’s ambitions in both the domestic league and other competitions.
