Equatorial Guinea star Iban Salvador Edú produces moment of magic in Wisla Plock win

Equatorial Guinea national team star attacker Iban Salvador Edú’s first half free kick helped Polish top flight side Wisła Płock overcome an early deficit and remain perfect through two games in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Raków Częstochowa in the Ekstraklasa.

Wisła Płock failed to convert from the penalty spot in the 38th minute after conceding to hosts Raków inside twenty minutes. However, the Nzalang Nzalang talisman helped his club’s supporters quickly forget their misfortune by curling in a beautiful striker from a set piece with his magical wand of a left foot.

On loan midfielder Wiktor Nowak put Wisla up for good in the 71st minute to make it two wins from two games early in the 2025-26 campaign. It is a dream start for Wisła who won promotion to the Ekstraklasa via a playoff after finishing third in the second tier last season.

Iban Salvador spent two seasons in the Polish second division, moving to Miedź Legnica ahead of the 2023-24 season after spending his entire career in birth country Spain. After playing a key role in Wisła’s promotion with 3 goals and 6 assists in 29 league games last season, Salvador is set to be a key figure in the attack as Wisla attempt to maintain a brilliant start on their way to top flight survival and potentially more. They return to action on Friday at home against Piast Gliwice.
