Espérance de Tunis pip Stade Tunisien 1-0 to lift the 2025 Tunisian Super Cup title in Radès. A first-half penalty from Algerian star Youcef Belaïli was enough for Espérance to win their eighth Super Cup. The club holds the record for the most titles won in the Super Cup.
The Tunisian champions started the game in full domination and were very close to opening the scoring, with Ivorian import Abdramane Konaté missing from close range after a good pass by Achref Jabri. Stade Tunisien opted for a more cautious approach but had a good attempt on goal from Ivorian midfielder Yusuf Touré.
Espérance broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, with Belaïli scoring from the spot following Marouane Sahraoui’s handball inside the area. Stade Tunisien players protested the decision of the match official.
The second half saw a more defensive Espérance side. Nevertheless, Stade Tunisien failed to capitalize on their possession in the middle of the park. Espérance held their opponents at bay for much of the second half. The best chance of the half came from Espérance, with some minutes left to play, through Houssem Tka and Aboubacar Diakité, who both missed golden opportunities.
Espérance kicked off their 2025/26 season with a title win over Stade Tunisien. They will start their league title defense away to AS Gabès on August 9. Tunisian Cup holders Stade Tunisien will visit US Monastir when the league kicks off next week.
