Espérance de Tunis striker Rodrigo Rodrigues set to depart

Brazilian Rodrigo Rodrigues is set to leave Tunisian champions Espérance de Tunis. The striker joined Espérance from Brazilian Serie B side Juventude in 2023.

Rodrigo started the new Tunisian Ligue 1 season with Espérance but is now set to exit the club by mutual consent. The 29-year-old striker saw his game time dwindle in recent months as he fell down the pecking order at the Tunis giants. Rodrigo managed to bag 16 goals in all competitions since signing for the club, with most of his goals coming in league matches.

According to La Presse, Espérance has agreed to let Rodrigo go for free. The striker is expected to join Brazilian second division side Coritiba in the coming days once his contract at Espérance is rescinded.

Rodrigo had a superb debut season at Espérance in 2023/24, scoring eight goals in nine games during the playoff phase that saw EST confirm the title. During his stay in the North African nation, he won the league, cup, and Super Cup titles with Espérance while providing 16 goals and 4 assists in 52 games across all competitions.
