The management of Espérance Sportive de Tunis (ES Tunis) officially had their recruitment ban lifted on Thursday, July 3, after resolving the issue of late payment fines.

The case of former Libyan international Hamdou Elhouni, the source of the ban, has been closed.

Espérance were one of four African representatives at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. They notably did not acquire any players in the build-up to the competition, while fellow North African clubs Al Ahly of Egypt and Morocco's Wydad Casablanca each brought in multiple players before the competition in the United States.

The Blood and Gold will now be able to boost their squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign after capturing all three Tunisian domestic honors and reaching the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.

Espérance fell 0-1 on aggregate to runners-up Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
