Bechir Ben Saïd praised his team following Espérance Sportive de Tunis’s historic qualification at the expense of Al Ahly in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Espérance secured a thrilling 3-2 victory in Cairo, in a match where the Tunisian goalkeeper delivered a standout performance, playing a crucial role in his team’s progression.
Speaking after the game, Saïd said:
“We delivered a very big performance. It’s true that we started the match a bit below our level, but we managed to correct our performance. I tried to help my teammates as much as I could, and they also supported me a lot and did not fall short.”
The win sends Espérance into the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Stade Malien.
This qualification marks a significant achievement for the Tunisian giants, especially given the fact of overcoming Al Ahly in Cairo, further underlining Espérance’s strong performance this season.
