Espérance de Tunis have secured the services of Tunisian duo Hamza Rafia and Mohamed Dräger. The Tunisian giants are fortifying their squad for the second round of Ligue 1 and the CAF Champions League.

The Tunis giants signed Rafia on a three-and-a-half-year contract. The midfielder spent most of his career in Italy. Rafia, 26, is a product of the youth teams of Olympique Lyonnais and Juventus.

He has played the last three seasons for Serie A side Lecce. Rafia can be deployed as an attacking midfielder or right winger.

Espérance Strengthen for CAF Champions League with International Duo

Dräger, 29, left Bundesliga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig to join Espérance. The experienced right-back will be turning out in the Tunisian Ligue 1 for the first time, as he was born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, to Tunisian parents. Dräger put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Both players are Tunisian internationals but were overlooked for the recent 2025 FIFA Arab Cup and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. They hope their move and performances in their native country could help them regain their spots in the Eagles of Carthage as the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America fast approaches.
