Esther Okoronkwo named September Player of the Month at AFC Toronto

Esther Okoronkwo has been officially announced as AFC Toronto Player of the Month award for September.

The 27-year-old’s exceptional performances throughout the month saw her light up the league with four goals and two assists for AFC Toronto over four appearances during the month.

Okoronkwo netted the decisive winning goal in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Halifax, before then providing two goals and one assist in the clubs 7-0 victory over Vancouver.

The Nigerian forward also found the net in the reverse fixture with Halifax which ended in a 1-1 draw to secure her side a point. She then rounded off a remarkable month by providing the assist for the solitary goal in AFC Toronto 1–0 win over Ottawa .

Okoronkwo will hope to continue her fine form with the club and country as the international break nears.
