Ethan Chislett speaks out on Kaizer Chiefs move

New Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ethan Chislett has spoken out about his highly anticipated move to the Soweto giants, sharing his thoughts on joining Amakhosi.

He also expressed his excitement, initial impressions of Chiefs and revealed what the Amakhosi fans can expect from him at Naturena.

The Durban-born player penned a deal with the Soweto giants after a significant period playing in England, which included a stint in Spain. Most notably, he was instrumental in helping Port Vale FC achieve promotion to English League One before making his move to Amakhosi.

The creative attacking midfielder has already linked up with his new teammates and is currently with the squad at their pre-season training camp in the Netherlands. He’s part of a wave of new talent at Amakhosi, joining fellow new signings Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, and Siphesihle Ndlovu.

Chislett has quickly settled into his new surroundings, revealing his positive first impressions of the club. Despite the inherent challenges of adapting to a new team, he expressed immense satisfaction and optimism about his early days with Amakhosi.

“Joining a new club is never the easiest thing in the world. You have to adapt,” Chislett shared with the Chiefs media team. “But since I joined, everyone has been amazing, and I am so happy here. This is why I love South Africa; everyone smiles.”

He credits his smooth transition to the warm welcome he’s received. “I’d like to say I am fitting in really well. It’s a credit to my new teammates and the management staff for welcoming me so warmly. It’s a really exciting time for me, and I am looking to attack these challenges head-on,” he added.

The 26-year-old midfielder is brimming with confidence, asserting that he has what it takes to make a significant impact for Amakhosi.

“I appreciate creativity, but the bottom line is you have to score goals to win games,” Chislett declared. “I’d like to think I can rise to the occasion when called upon to make a decisive contribution for my team, and that’s what motivates me.”
