Ethiopian Under-17 national team players Biniyam Abraha and Dawit Kassaw have agreed to join newly promoted Ethiopian Premier League side Sheger Ketema.

The players are part of the Ethiopian U17 squad that qualified for the U-17 AFCON after a 22-year wait.

Ethiopia U-17 head coach Benjamin Zeimer previously said some of the players in his squad can compete in the Ethiopian Premier League. Kassaw was the joint top scorer during the U-17 AFCON qualifiers with eight goals, while Abraha captained the side and scored against Kenya in the decisive third-place playoff tie in Addis Ababa. Both players are a product of Addis Ababa based youth academy named Three point.

Sheger Ketema gained promotion to the league for the first time at the end of the 2024/25 season. The contract details of the players have not been revealed by the club. The club is led by veteran coach Ashenafi Bekele and currently sits ninth with 12 points.
