Ethiopian Football Federation and Macron set for new kit deal?

The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) and Macron Sportswear have formed a partnership. The details of the agreement are yet to be disclosed by the EFF but the Italian sportswear manufacturer is set to collaborate with the federation.

A close source to the matter told Pan Africa Football that the Macron partnership came after the EFF signed an agreement with Major League Soccer side D.C. United for a friendly game in August 2025. It is not yet known whether the national team will continue using the Hagere brand or if the partnership with Macron includes kit supply. The source further added that the EFF aims to target the large Ethiopian diaspora to sell replica shirts during the friendly tour in the United States.

The last foreign kit supplier of the Ethiopian national team was Umbro. After the deal with Umbro ended, the EFF partnered with local kit manufacturers for supplies. Currently, the federation uses a kit brand named Hagere (meaning “My Country” in Amharic). The EFF owns the brand, as the federation planned to manufacture the national team’s kits internally. Pan Africa Football understands that the Hagere brand was manufactured in Türkiye and imported to Ethiopia.
