Record Ethiopian champions Saint George persisted with their abysmal form after losing to Wolayta Dicha in Week 21 from the Ethiopian Premier League. The Amhara Derby earlier on Thursday between Fasil Kenema and Bahirdar Ketema ended in a scoreless draw.
Saint George lost their third consecutive league game after falling to Wolayta Dicha by a 1-0 score. The Horsemen came into the encounter having failed to win their last three league outings. The Sodo based club were looking for a crucial win to close the gap on the top teams.
Abenet Demisse headed home from a Tewodros Tafesse free kick in the second half to hand the Bees of Tana a decisive victory. The win helped Wolayta Dicha to leapfrog Saint George and sit sixth with 30 points. Saint George dropped to seventh place with 29 points.

Elsewhere, Fasil Kenema missed a spot kick in the second half as they settled for a 0-0 draw against Bahirdar Ketema in a derby game. Bahirdar’s Senegalese goalie Pape Saido was the hero for the away side he saved a penalty kick from Biniyam Getachew in the second half. Getachew joined the Emperors from Commercial Bank of Ethiopia on February and could have gotten his first goal for his new employers.
Bahirdar Ketema are fourth with 30 points while Fasil Kenema are 12th with 24 points.
