Ethiopian Premier League: Title race heats up as Ethiopian Coffee beat leaders Insurance

In a top-of-the-table clash, Ethiopian Coffee pipped leaders Ethiopian Insurance as the Ethiopian Premier League title race heats up in Round 31. The final six rounds of games will be played at the Adama Science and Technology Stadium, as the points gap between Coffee and Insurance has now dropped to six points.
Ethiopian international Ramkel James has now scored in back-to-back league games as Ethiopian Coffee overcame Ethiopian Insurance 1-0. The Browns have now cut the point difference to six with five games remaining.
Head coach Netsanet Kibre returned to the dugout after a one-game suspension as he hopes to guide Ethiopian Coffee to their first league title since 2011. Ethiopian Insurance have slipped up in the last few rounds, and the title race is now wide open. Insurance coach Gebremedhin Haile previously stated that his side should avoid complacency, as the title is not yet won.
Ethiopian Insurance remain top with 60 points. Ethiopian Coffee follow with 54 points.
Elsewhere, Wolwalo Adigrat University and Arbaminch Ketema played out a 1-1 draw. Natnael Solomon gave the already relegated Wolwalo the lead in the second half, but Saint George loanee Tamirat Eyasu restored parity for the Crocodiles from close range. Arbaminch occupy 12th place with 36 points. Wolwalo are bottom with 15 points.
