Etta Eyong strikes again as Levante move up La Liga table

Karl Etta Eyong continued his strong start to life at Levante with his fourth goal in five La Liga matches during a 2-0 victory at Real Oviedo on Saturday.

The Cameroonian was in the right place to finish from close range in the second half for a goal that confirmed a victory away from home for Levante. Oriol Rey’s curled shot from distance went off the post and ricocheted right to Etta Eyong who was left with an easy finish on the doorstep.

Etta Eyong is off to an excellent start since moving from Villarreal for €3 million at the end of the summer transfer window. He has four goals and an assist for Levante and also produced a goal and two assists from three matches before moving from the Yellow Submarine, giving Etta Etyong five goals and three assists in eight La Liga matches so far this season.

Etta Eyong only trails Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid and league top scorer Kylian Mbappé on the scoring chart.

An upcoming Cameroon senior debut for Etta Eyong?

The Douala native will have an opportunity to make his debut for the Cameroon senior national team after previously representing the nation at the U-23 level. Etta Eyong was called by head coach Marc Brys for crucial upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Mauritius and Angola, where the Indomitable Lions need to win both games to have any hope of catching up to Group D leaders Cape Verde.
