Ghana’s senior female team forward Evelyn Badu has been left over the moon following her move to Canadian side, Montreal Roses FC.
The 23-year-old signed Made the move to North America for the 2026 campaign after leaving French side Fleury 91.
Evelyn Badu shared her thoughts on her move to Montreal Roses.
“Joining the Montreal Roses is an opportunity I’ve been waiting for,” said Badu.
“Women’s professional soccer in North America is experiencing exceptional growth, and the Super League North is part of that movement. Montreal is building something ambitious, and I want to be a part of it. I can’t wait to contribute on the field and help this team reach new heights.”
The former Hasaacas Ladies attacker previously had spells in Norway and France where she featured for Avaldsnes IL, Molde and Fleuri 91.

“She has shone on the African continent, she has played in demanding European leagues, and she knows how to score in crucial moments. She is an intelligent player who reads the game, creates opportunities, and is able to find the right space for the final pass or finish with precision. She will bring an extra dimension to our attack and embody the winning mentality we want to develop.”
Badu became the first player to win the Golden Boot in the CAF Women’s Champions League before later adding the best inter-club player and young player accolades to her long list of awards.
Sharing her thoughts following the announcement, Evelyn Badu revealed that the move to Canada was an opportunity she had long anticipated.

Before making the switch to Canada, Evelyn Badu built a strong reputation in European football, featuring in both Norway and France. She previously played for Avaldsnes IL and Molde FK in Norway, gaining valuable experience in a physically demanding and tactically disciplined environment.
Her most recent spell was with Fleury 91 in France, where she further developed her technical ability and game intelligence. Across her European journey, Badu demonstrated versatility, creativity, and a consistent goal threat—qualities that made her an attractive prospect for clubs outside the continent.
That international exposure has shaped her into a more complete forward, capable of adapting to different playing styles and competitive demands.
