Everton set to launch bid for Wilfred Ndidi

Everton is reportedly pushing to sign Nigeria national team midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City this summer.

Ndidi is reportedly set to leave Leicester City following the Foxes relegation from the Premier League after the 2024/25 season. The Super Eagles midfielder signed a new three-year contract with Leicester last summer which included a £9m release clause.

Everton moved to sign the defensive midfielder before the start of last season but he turned down their request, and have now revived their interest in the 28-year-old.

Ligue 1 club Monaco also reportedly tried to sign Ndidi in January but had their offer rejected by Leicester City. There is also interest in the player from Saudi clubs, who are prepared to offer him a lucrative deal.

Ndidi has been at Leicester City since January 2017 following his arrival from Belgian Pro League club, KRC Genk.

The player won the Emirates FA Cup with Leicester City in the 2020/21 season and has scored 11 goals in 252 appearances for the Foxes.
