Former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars striker Benson Omala has officially joined Visakha FC in the Cambodia Premier League on a three-year deal.

The decision to leave the record Kenyan champions comes a few weeks after the club relinquished the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title to Kenya Police FC with a game to spare.

Police won the league with 65 points, six more than Gor Mahia, who amassed 59. Gor Mahia further failed in their bid to finish the season with silverware after they lost the final of the domestic FKF Cup 2-1 against Nairobi United.

Visakha is a professional club based in Phnom Penh. Founded in 2016, it competes in the Cambodian Premier League. Visakha has won three consecutive Hun Sen Cups since 2020, and managed to qualify for the play-offs round of the 2021 and 2022 AFC Cup.

Omala, finished as the second-best scorer in the 2022-23 Kenyan Premier League while turning out for Gor Mahia, and was the top scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with 19 goals.
