Former Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ team coach Jerry Tshabalala has landed a top job in Morocco.
The South African has been appointed as the new coach for Sporting Club Casablanca:
“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome to our new head coach, the two-time African champion, Mr Jerry Tshabalala,” the club’s statement reads.
He follows in the footsteps of compatriot Rulani Mokwena who had a stint with Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco. Tshabalala made a name with Sundowns after leading them to two CAF Women’s Champions League titles.
Domestically, the coach won seven Hollywood Super League titles during his reign, which did not end particularly well. He was placed on leave to pave the way for investigations of alleged improper conduct at Sundowns last year.
However, the outcome of the investigations were never made public.
